MEET JEMMA
Introducing the
Founder
Before Desert Moon Bridal existed, I spent more than a decade photographing weddings.
Being behind the camera gave me a front-row seat to hundreds of incredible wedding days. The dresses I remembered most the most expensive gowns, they were the dresses who genuinely reflected who the bride.
When it came time to shop for my own wedding dress after getting engaged in 2019, I quickly discovered how limited the options were.
Living in regional Queensland meant travelling more than five hours just to visit a bridal boutique, and most dresses within my budget either lacked the style I loved or were not in my sizing.
So I decided to create the dress I couldn't find.
The Beggining
That single idea became Desert Moon Bridal.
Over the following year, I immersed myself in every part of the design process, sourcing fabrics, testing lace samples, refining patterns and working closely with experienced dressmakers to bring my dream gown, Luna, to life.
Wearing Luna for a bridal shoot with my husband during our honeymoon confirmed everything I'd hoped to create, a gown that felt unique, beautifully made and accessible without the luxury price tag.
As the collections grew, so did my passion for designing. I began sketching brand new original gowns. Sometimes this extended beyond the dress itself. For our Wattle gown, I hand-painted delicate watercolours that was transformed into custom-printed fabric, creating something truly unique to Desert Moon Bridal.
Seeing an idea evolve from a sketch or painting into a finished gown remains one of my favourite parts of the process. That same passion continues to shape every collection we release, with each design created to feel distinctive, personal and unlike anything else.

Instead of following trends, I design gowns I'd genuinely love to photograph and see worn on real wedding days.
I'm endlessly inspired by floral lace, rich textures, celestial details and unexpected colours. I aim to create designs that feel timeless while still expressing personality.
Above all else, I want brides to choose a dress because they love it—not because tradition says they should.
